Dodgeball New Zealand, in association with Dodgeball Auckland, is hosting the 2019 Asia Pacific Invitational Dodgeball Tournament.
This will see close to 50 men’s, mixed, and women’s teams from Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia and Singapore converge on Auckland over ANZAC weekend, making it the largest Dodgeball tournament ever hosted in New Zealand.
The Asia Pacific Invitational is an annual competition between local club teams from around the Pacific. 2019 will be the third time this event has been hosted in New Zealand, having previously been held in Wellington and Christchurch. The tournament has grown from 20 teams in 2016 to 46 teams this year.
The international tri-series, the first of its kind in Australasia, is set to take place on Thursday 25 April, while the three-day competition begins the next day, Friday 26 April. The tournament will be held at the YMCA on Grey Street in Auckland.
The event is open to the public for a gold coin donation and gives people in the Auckland area a chance to see some of the best dodgeball players in Australasia in action, including an international tri-series. So come check out some world-class dodgeball, and learn more about the event for upcoming years.
